RAIS wa Shirikisho la Mpira wa Miguu Tanzania (TFF) amewataka wadau
wa mchezo huo kuwa watulivu kwa vile tofauti zilizojitokeza kati ya
Shirikisho na Serikali zitamalizwa kwa taratibu za mpira wa miguu.
Amesema nia ya TFF ni kuhakikisha Shirikisho la Kimataifa la Mpira wa
Miguu (FIFA) haliifungii Tanzania kwani tayari Waziri wa Habari, Vijana,
Utamaduni na Michezo, Dk. Fenella Mukangara alishaahidi kuwepo kikao
kati yake na viongozi wa TFF kitakachofanyika Jumanne (Machi 19 mwaka
huu).
“Suluhu itapatikana kwa mazungumzo kati ya Wizara na TFF.
Naamini suala hili tutalimaliza baada ya kikao cha Machi 19 ambacho
kimepangwa na Waziri kutokana na maombi ya TFF,” amesema Rais Tenga na
kuongeza kuwa tatizo lilianzia kwenye mchakato wa uchaguzi ambao
umesimamishwa na FIFA.
FIFA ilisimamisha Mkutano Mkuu wa uchaguzi
baada ya baadhi ya wagombea walioenguliwa kulalamika, na yenyewe kuahidi
kutuma ujumbe wa kushughulikia suala hilo.
Rais Tenga amesema lisingetokea tatizo hilo, TFF tayari ilishaitisha Mkutano Mkuu ambao ungefuatiwa na uchaguzi. Lakini kwa vile FIFA ndiyo iliyosimamisha mkutano huo, TFF inalazimika kusubiri hadi FIFA itakaposhughulikia suala hilo na kutoa maelekezo ikiwemo lini mkutano ufanyike.

kuamini tatizo hilo litamalizwa ndani ndiyo maana TFF hadi sasa
haijapeleka FIFA maagizo ya Waziri Dk. Fenella ya kutengua marekebisho
ya Katiba ya TFF ya mwaka 2012, kuitisha Mkutano Mkuu wa marekebisho ya
Katiba na Mkutano Mkuu wa Uchaguzi, kwani ingefanya hivyo Tanzania
ingefungiwa mara moja.
TFF inasisitiza kuwa FIFA ilijua tatizo la
Serikali kutoa maagizo kwake kupitia vyombo vya habari, hivyo
kumuandikia Rais Tenga na kueleza msimamo wake iwapo itabainika kuwa
Serikali imekuwa ikiingilia uendeshaji wa shughuli za mpira wa miguu.
Uhalali wa kuwepo kwa barua ya FIFA kwenda kwa Rais Tenga juu ya suala
hilo ulihojiwa pia na mwandishi wa Reuters, Brian Homewood baada ya
kusoma kupitia vyombo vya habari nchini kuwa Shirikisho hilo huenda
likaifungia Tanzania ikibainika Serikali inaingilia shughuli za TFF.
Mawasiliano kati ya FIFA na mwandishi huyo ambapo majibu yake pia TFF
ilipewa nakala yameambatanishwa katika taarifa hii.

We can confirm that FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke has sent a
letter to the President of the Tanzanian Football Federation, Leodegar
Tenga, concerning alleged governmental interference in the internal
affairs of the TFF.
FIFA is in contact with the TFF President who is optimistic that the matter can be sorted out within TFF, FIFA and the Tanzanian authorities. Furthermore, we can confirm that FIFA is also planning to send a mission to assess the situation with regard to the electoral process as soon as the current matter of alleged interference has been clarified.

Dar es Salaam. Fifa has threatened to suspend Tanzania from all international competitions if the tug-of-war between the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and government does not end in a meaningful way. In a letter to the TFF, the world soccer governing body warned yesterday that it would not hesitate to impose a ban on the country if it confirms that the government interferes with the operations of the federation.
Fifa says there have been various reports of accusations by local media that the ministry of Information, Culture and Sports has interfered with the operations of the TFF.
The letter has quoted the minister responsible for sports, Fenella Mukangara, as saying that the government has urged the TFF to use the
2006 constitution in this year's election, while it 'has already been amended.'
"It has been reported that the TFF has been urged to organise the General Assembly and the elections by the date set by the government,"
reads the letter signed by Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke.
It further reads: "It is also said that government intends to establish an interim committee if the TFF fails to undertake the orders."
Fifa says if the accusations reported by the local media shall be established to be true, it means the government is interfering with the operations of TFF.
"We would like to remind all members of Fifa that they are required to conduct their activities freely without interference by another person as defined in Articles 13 and 17 of the Constitution of Fifa."
"So if these instructions issued by the government will be implemented, this issue will be taken to the top Fifa authorities for further action, including suspension of Tanzania as it becomes when there is a government intervention," says the letter.
A copy of the letter has been sent to the Confederation of African Football (Caf) reiterating some of the penalties that Tanzania will face if it is suspended.
