Kirsty, who shares a £7.4billion fortune with her husband, Swiss- Italian businessman Ernesto, says she has always dreamed of a creative career.

The mother-of-three has lined up a duet with Ronan Keating for her first single, called Send Out A Message To The World, to be released later this year.

“I’m from Staffordshire and I’ve been very fortunate but I’m the same girl I used to be,” she said.

“I’ve always been a creative and sensitive person. I feel elation and sometimes pain like everyone else and that’s what I draw on in my songwriting.

"I write a lot on the boat although I don’t have a recording studio on it.”

The family’s vessel is the largest yacht ever built in Britain and has a helicopter pad and a swimming pool.

Kirsty’s family runs the Bertarelli Foundation, which oversees philanthropic contributions to good causes around the world.

In London last week she performed a concert for music industry executives to help promote her new album, Love Is.

Kirsty won the Miss UK title in 1989 and came third in Miss World.

She met her husband on holiday in Italy in 1997. They wed in 2000 and now have three children.

Ernesto ran the family company Serono, the biggest biotechnology company in Europe and a leader in reproductive treatments as well as drugs for multiple sclerosis.

He sold the company in 2006 and now spends much of his time sailing. He owns the Swiss team which won the America’s Cup twice in succession.

The pair live in a mansion on the shores of Lake Geneva.
